Nocturnal children are a blessing! My kids were up long after my parents, my husband and I had gone to bed. Though they often have earbuds in, they heard the gushing water tank so the problem was identified, contained and cleaned up in the wee hours of the morning. I can only imagine what it might have looked like at 7:00 am on Saturday morning if the water sprayed unnoticed all night long. God’s divine timing always amazes me.
On our trips to Central Oregon, nighttime noises include a chorus of coyotes as well. After the sun sets, if you listen really closely, you can hear their party. For years, I thought the neighbors a few acres over had loud parties and liquored up women couldn’t contain giggles. It wasn’t until I was older that I could turn off my assumptions about party-goers and really listen. Night time yaps are to coyotes as text messages are to teens.
